The COVID-19 situation is evolving rapidly, number of cases is increasing globally. Preventive measures to contain the spread have been put in place and social distancing should be practiced as we need to flatten the curve. It is difficult for the dietetic practice and businesses which mostly rely on in-person meetings. Solutions need to be identified to maintain or at least reduce the health and economic damages of the pandemic.
As a company that permits a direct connection between dietitians and their patients through technology, we have been reflecting on how we could help (the best we can) our fellow dietitians.
As both dietitians and patients will have to work remotely from home, challenges arise with regards to the delivery of services. Many appointments are being cancelled which leaves patients without or with limited support and which impacts dietitians' revenues (private sector).
Some dietitians have been offering their services online, yet others are not used to providing their services as such and may be overwhelmed by how to do so, e.g. which platform to choose, how to keep their clients information secured, etc.
Though Keenoa is not only used for virtual consulting, we have been told it greatly helps providing a tangible and dynamic virtual nutritional service, and helps maintaining a strong relationship with patients even if from a distance.
As several companies are offering help including Microsoft and others, we are jumping in as well for our community of dietitians and their patients.
Until June 1st 2020 (at the least), Keenoa will:
Be able to continue providing your nutritional services for your patients’ health and yours.
Stay informed about the COVID-19 evolution and most importantly stay healthy,
